OVERVIEW

Vertex Professional Services has an active client who requires a Land Analystto work in a full-time / in-house secondment role at our clients downtown Calgary office.


This position is expected to be in attendance and on site five days a week. Term of contract is at minimum 1 year.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

Skills required to be successful in this role:

  • Strong technical land skills and computer skills
  • Ability to learn new things quickly
  • Engaging personality and interpersonal skills
  • An ability to effectively multi-task
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and highly organized
  • Freehold and Crown Surface experience
  • Respond to third-party land queries (e.g., AFE, ION, MB, CDO, NOA, ROFR, penalties).
  • Track lease expiries, rentals, and continuations.
  • Update CS Explorer for land data changes and maintain data integrity.
  • Set up PSA files and enter to CS Explorer.
  • Provide agreed reports (e.g., acreage, expiry, rental forecasts, well reports).
  • Update CS Explorer to reflect acquisitions, dispositions, and exchanges.
  • Establish, update, or terminate leases, contracts, facilities, and wells as required

Your experience includes:

  • 5+ years of Land experience in Alberta
  • Working knowledge of surface land procedures, relevant land legislation and regulations
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office products with strong Excel skills, and ability to integrate new software into daily workflows
  • Monitoring and reporting on project progress

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administer and maintain surface files for crown and freehold
  • Review survey plans and prepare required third party documentation
  • Prepare general reports and project specific updates to clients
  • Compile data and other required information as needed
  • Prepare and format reports for clients
  • Type and proofread correspondence, forms and other documents
  • Photocopy and collate documents for distribution, mailing and filing
  • Additional administrative duties as required
