<h3>Job Title</h3>
<p>Labour Relations Specialist</p>
<h3>Overview</h3>
<p>CHEO is a global leader in pediatric health, serving over 500,000 children across Eastern Ontario, Western Quebec, Nunavut and Northern Ontario. As a hybrid‑remote position, you will work from home most days while attending on‑site training and occasional meetings. The role enhances a positive work environment by providing expert HR guidance and training to supervisors and managers.</p>
<h3>Responsibilities</h3>
<ul>
<li>Provide advice, guidance and direction on the administration and interpretation of collective agreements and policies.</li>
<li>Participate in the development, review and update of labour‑relations strategies, policies and programs.</li>
<li>Represent and support management in internal and external grievance proceedings, including mediations, arbitrations, Human Rights Tribunal and Labour Board processes.</li>
<li>Work with legal counsel, HR and business units to prepare and finalize arbitration briefs.</li>
<li>Chair and participate in joint meetings with union partners and management.</li>
<li>Maintain knowledge of employment legislation and perform related activities.</li>
<li>Prepare and deliver labour‑relations training materials to internal clients.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Qualifications</h3>
<ul>
<li>University degree in Business with a major in Human Resources, Labour Relations or Law (Essential).</li>
<li>Five (5) years of experience in a labour‑relations team or law firm (Essential).</li>
<li>Experience conducting investigations and documenting findings for legal scrutiny (Essential).</li>
<li>In‑depth knowledge of collective agreements and employment conditions (Essential).</li>
<li>Ability to interpret and implement organisational policies and procedures (Essential).</li>
<li>Discretion, confidentiality and professional sensitivity (Essential).</li>
<li>Excellent communication skills at all organisational levels (Essential).</li>
<li>Strong problem‑identification and skills, basic research and data analysis (Essential).</li>
<li>Self‑motivated, independent and team‑oriented (Essential).</li>
<li>Excellent time‑management and project‑management skills (Essential).</li>
<li>Computer literacy with MS Office (Essential).</li>
<li>Professional designation CHRP/CHRL (Preferred).</li>
<li>Experience in a multicultural environment (Preferred).</li>
<li>Previous hospital experience (Preferred).</li>
<li>Bilingualism (English/French) (Preferred).</li>
