Key Account Manager

We’re looking for a commercially minded Key Account Manager who knows how to build trust, manage complexity, and turn relationships into results. This role sits at the centre of our retail grocery business, owning key head office relationships while coordinating execution across Sales, Operations, and Finance.

Some of what you will do in this role includes:

  • Own and grow relationships with key head office and banner-level retail contacts
  • Act as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for assigned accounts
  • Represent the company professionally at customer meetings, trade shows, industry events, and occasional after-hours functions
  • Serve as the escalation point for account-related issues, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication
  • Manage the day-to-day administrative and executional needs of key accounts, including feature notifications, ad planning, forecasting, and follow-ups
  • Coordinate closely with Operations, Finance, and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate, efficient account servicing
  • Keep internal teams aligned on customer expectations, promotions, changes, and account-specific requirements
  • Protect and expand existing business while identifying new listings, distribution gains, and incremental growth opportunities
  • Conduct store checks and market visits to validate execution, identify gaps, and surface opportunities
  • Collaborate with vendors and business partners to develop programs and initiatives that drive mutual growth
  • Monitor rebates, accruals, chargebacks, fines, penalties, and other account-related financial activity
  • Partner with Finance to ensure accuracy, visibility, and timely resolution of discrepancies
  • Maintain disciplined control of account compliance and financial exposure
You should have the following in your background to apply:
  • Developed relationships with key customer decision-makers in the Greater Vancouver retail environment
  • Ability to work cross functionally across internal and external departments (finance, logistics, marketing)
  • Sales experience and demonstrated key account background with consistent ability to identify and convert growth opportunities
  • Disciplined, proactive management of financial commitments and compliance
  • Professional, confident presentation abilities
  • Analytical and judgement oriented with a sales savvy
  • Post secondary education
