ARE YOU EAGER TO GAIN HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE WITH DRIVE SYSTEMS?

If you enjoy working in the field and want to grow your skills with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and Soft Starter (SS) systems, this is the perfect opportunity.

As a Junior Drive Systems Engineer, you’ll assist with commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimizing drive systems while learning from experienced engineers. This role offers hands‑on field experience, technical growth, and exposure to industrial drive systems across multiple sites. This isn’t a desk job—you’ll be out in the field contributing to real‑world solutions under guidance and mentorship.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Assisting with commissioning, testing, and optimizing VFD and SS systems (MV and LV) in industrial settings.

  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting performance issues in the field.

  • Helping train operators and technicians on safe use, best practices, and ongoing maintenance.

  • Evaluating applications and recommending the best‑fit drive system solutions.

  • Size, select equipment, and configure parameters, including VFDs, SS, and accessories.

  • Supporting technical proposals with system design, product recommendations, and cost estimates.

  • Collaborating cross‑functionally with internal teams and customers to ensure successful outcomes.

  • Documenting service work and customer feedback to improve systems and service delivery.

  • Travel regularly, including occasional after‑hours or weekend commissioning work.

You’ll Succeed If You Have:

  • A Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field.

  • Hands‑on experience working with VFDs and Soft Starters in MV and LV applications.

  • Strong understanding of power electronics, motor control, and system integration.

  • Comfort in the field—especially during commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

  • Strong communication skills—you can break down technical concepts for any audience.

  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work independently.

  • A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as part of your routine.

Why Join Our Client:

  • You’ll be hands‑on and on‑site, making a real difference in how industrial systems run.

  • We offer a tight‑knit, technically strong team and a culture that values your input.

  • Full extended benefits: health, dental, vision, LTD, AD&D, and more.

  • Health Care Spending Account + RRSP program.

  • Exposure to cross‑functional work and opportunities to grow your role over time.
