IT Business Systems Analyst (Agile / Scrum)



Challenging hybrid role in the insurance industry for a professional with strong Agile and Scrum experience. Requires hands-on expertise with AWS or IBM FileNet and a background in system integration. Collaborate on strategic digital transformation initiatives in a dynamic, cross-functional environment based in Markham.



What is in it for you:




• Salaried: $75-85 per hour.


• Incorporated Business Rate: $90-95 per hour.


• 10-month contract.


• Full-time position: 37.50 hours per week.


• Hybrid schedule requiring a minimum of 3 days per week on-site at the Markham office.


• Flexibility to work extended hours as needed to meet key project deadlines.



Responsibilities:




• Understand the business problem the project is tasked with solving and ensure the project team remains aligned with this goal.


• Define and manage project scope in collaboration with stakeholders.


• Develop business workflows and produce AS-IS and TO-BE diagrams using MS Visio.


• Monitor and continuously review sprint plans, optimizing where applicable.


• Support roadmap design, project planning, and prioritization.


• Organize and lead working sessions and project update meetings across various organizational levels.


• Collaborate with business and technical teams to deliver high-quality project outputs.


• Identify project issues or roadblocks and outline steps for resolution and mitigation.


• Provide feedback and recommendations for process and project improvements.


• Demonstrate ownership and end-to-end accountability for project success.


• Communicate project vision effectively and drive results in a fast-paced environment.



What you will need to succeed:




• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.


• Certification or experience as a Scrum Master is preferred.


• 4–6 years of experience in a business systems analysis or equivalent role.


• Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies and Scrum delivery.


• Experience working with integration systems related to data, finance, and risk modeling.


• Proficiency with AWS or IBM FileNet.


• Strong understanding of insurance industry practices and terminology.


• High level of business acumen and stakeholder management skills.


• Results-oriented, with consistent focus on business outcomes and benefits.


• Superior analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.


• Excellent organizational and planning abilities.


• Strong verbal and written communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.


• Process-driven approach in documenting and maintaining project artifacts.
