Concept to Design Inc. is a full-service custom home and interior design firm. We are a small team, home based business in North Surrey, specializing in residential, both single family and multifamily projects. From initial concept through to final completion, we deliver exceptional spaces tailored to each client's unique preferences and lifestyle.

This is an opportunity for an INTERMEDIATE INTERIOR DESIGNER position (reports to Senior Interior Designer) who works well with all aspects of Interior Design, project phases and business development.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project programming - collaborate with and identify Client design preferences, goals, needs, lifestyle + functional requirements. Understand and personally address questions and concerns.

Conceptual Design - develop and present concepts and boards that align with client expectations, project goals, and maintain the integrity of the design.

Design Development - space planning, produce detailed Interior Design drawings (furniture plan, finishes and fixtures plans, Reflected Ceiling plans and millwork) and specify finishes/fixtures/furniture to create functional and aesthetic design solutions.

Contract Documentation - efficiently complete technical work and accurate Interior Design drawing and specification packages for Design Development, Coordination Sets, IFT, IFC. Respond to RFI's, and issue SI's and contract administration. Review all documents, submittals, and finish samples.

Site Visits - perform precise field measurements for drawings. Perform site visits at key intervals throughout the project to review electrical/plumbing rough-ins, framing, tile layouts, cabinetry, furniture, and fixtures.

Project Management - work with client expectations, and coordinate with contactor, consultants + team to manage project so objectives, scope of work, schedule and budget are met.

FF&E - source and specify furniture/accessories, fixtures and equipment and manage budgets. Coordinate deliveries, trades, and installers. Perform on-site installations of furniture and accessories.

Office Management - maintain timesheets, project hours, budgets, invoicing, billing, and project costing to date.

Self and Company Development - stay current with industry design trends, products, design innovations and processes to add unique ideas to each project. Continual learning and contributions to improving drawings and specifications, templates, systems, and procedures to enhance efficiency and service.

Company Marketing - update website and social media accounts. Attending shows and events is encouraged. Attend photo shoots for completed projects, set-up and ensure a clean and accessorized environment ready for photographer, give direction to photographer.


QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Degree or Diploma in Interior Design, minimum 4-6 years experience in a local Interior Design office (residential preferred).

Advanced Auto CAD skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Power Point, Word, Excel, and Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, Canva. Proficient in Sketchup or rendering program.

Excellent personal customer service skills. Effective listening, verbal, and written communication to form steady, trusting relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, subtrades, suppliers and team partners.

Knowledgeable and resourceful in working with local zoning bylaws and building codes and requirements.

Detail orientated, independent worker, organized, team player and problem solver to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment and handle multiple projects in a professional clean office.

Supportive, Flexible to react positively to project and company needs/changes. Proactive in finding solutions. Positive professional attitude.

Valid BC Drivers license and reliable vehicle to travel to site.

Safely lift and carry samples and products. Work extended hours for site setups and deadlines if needed.

Business Casual Dress


Schedule: Full time - Monday to Friday 8-4:30p in office

Hours: 37.5 hours/week

Benefits: Extended health benefits

Start Date: February 9, 2026 (upon agreement)

Pay: $27 - $34 per hour depending on experience
