Our client, a respected not-for-profit organization, is seeking an experienced interim executive to step into a critical leadership role during a period of transition. This is an exciting assignment as you will be responsible for operational leadership of a broad portfolio alongside providing a strategic assessment of the functions and helping to elevate their sophistication and value during your term.



Key Requirements:

  • Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across multiple corporate service areas including Finance, Facility and Office Management, Information Technology, Enterprise Risk Management, Human Resources (including volunteer programs) & Corporate Communications.
  • Lead and manage direct and indirect reports through performance reviews, development plans, and priority setting.
  • Serve as a member of the Senior Management Team, contributing to strategic direction and decision-making.
  • Assess the people, policies, processes, procedures, and technology providing key insights to the CEO.
  • Finalize the audit process and present the financials to the Audit Committee.
  • Oversee the development and execution of the organization’s Operational Plan and associated budgets.
  • Represent the organization in external forums and liaise with stakeholders and service providers.
  • Approve financial transactions, investments, and vendor contracts; ensure timely financial reporting and risk mitigation.
  • Review and approve internal documents, forms, and communications related to program areas.
  • Monitor and report on program performance, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Support the CEO in addressing operational issues and preparing for Council meetings.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of senior leadership experience, preferably in the not-for-profit or broader public sector.
  • CPA designation is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead during periods of organizational change or transition.
  • Strong background in managing diverse corporate functions and cross-functional teams.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning, financial oversight, and operational execution.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience working as an independent consultant or in interim executive roles is an asset.
  • Familiarity with governance structures and reporting in regulated or membership-based organizations is preferred.
