<h3>Subspecialty Family Practice or Internal Medicine</h3><p>Current College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC) License, Full Canadian College of Family Practitioners (CCFP) Eligible, Mandatory Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) Mandatory</p><p>The Comox Valley Division of Family Practice is seeking Family Physicians to join a supportive and congenial team providing unattached inpatient care at the Comox Valley Hospital (CVH) in Courtenay, British Columbia, on Northern Vancouver Island.</p><p>Currently, CVH has 5 doctor of the day lines, as well as community family physicians, who admit and manage their own patients. Each physician provides care for approximately 13-17 patients. The 153-bed community acute care hospital serves a population of approximately 70,000 people. CVH is affiliated with the University of British Columbia and the Strathcona Site Family Practice Residency Program, offering opportunities for teaching.</p><p>Responsibilities include providing family medicine care to unattached and unassigned inpatients at CVH, including participating in 1:5 overnight call. The physician will report to the Purple group Lead and Division Head of Family Practice, operating within the Medical Staff Bylaws of the Vancouver Island Health Authority.</p><p>The physician will work alongside colleagues in various specialties, including Anesthesia, Emergency Medicine, community Family Medicine, Geriatric Psychiatry, General Surgery, Internal Medicine (general and sub-specialty covering the 8-bed ICU), Obstetrics/Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Palliative Care, Pediatrics, Psychiatry, Radiology (U/S, CT, MRI, ECHO), and Urology. Established links exist with tertiary care centres in Nanaimo (1 hour away) and Victoria (2.5 hours away).</p><p>Remuneration typically ranges from $1,600 to $2,000 per day, comprising a $500 daily stipend, admission bonuses, and FFS billings. An additional $500 per day is provided for overnight call shifts.</p><p>Additional remuneration may be available under the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA), including (subject to change):</p><ul><li>Recruitment Incentive: up to $10,000 (pro-rated based on FTE)</li><li>Relocation: up to $15,000 (based on the location from which you are relocating)</li><li>Flat fee: $7,977.42</li><li>Fee Premium: 6.93%</li><li>CME: Rural CME starting at $2,200/year in years 3 & 4, increasing to a maximum of $4,400/year after 4 years</li></ul><p>Community Information:</p><p>Scenic Comox Valley is one of Vancouver Island’s best-kept secrets, surrounded by mountains, rivers, rainforests, and seas.
