Job description:

A state-of-the-art instrument and consumables company selling primarily to thehospitalclinical diagnostic and core labs has

an exciting opportunity for a Toronto based Sales Specialist – diagnostic instruments, consumables, and reagents.



Ph.D. (or M.Sc.) and experience selling to Toronto hospital core labs essential. Emphasis on new account generation and retention or existing customers.



ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Generate new business while retaining existing major clients.
  • Maintain multiple levels of strategic contacts within these accounts.
  • Deal with quotations, RFPs, contracts, and tenders.
  • Attend and represent company at meetings and shows.
  • Provide forecasts and reports using


TERRITORY:

  • Downtown Toronto and parts of Ontario.
  • Home office based, with local travel to customer sites.


Qualifications:


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ph.D. or M.Sc. with appropriate experience .
  • 5 years of hands-on successful business development / sales experience, preferably in the niche Toronto Hospital Clinical Lab Diagnostics Laboratory sector.
  • List of key personal contacts / decision makers in the GTA.
  • Able to make an impact, and handle long, 2 to 3 year sales cycles.
  • Outstanding sales and bus dev track record.
  • Proactive, with strong leadership and technical skills.
  • Strong technical scientific background.
  • Excellent customer relationship management.
  • Experience with MS software.
  • Any experience an asset.
  • Living in the Greater Toronto area.
