Job Description: Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required: internal combustion engines, DC electrical systems, propane systems, hydraulics, and fuel systems Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts: perform major repairs to maintain fleet equipment using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and measuring instruments independently Clean, lubricate, and perform other maintenance work: conduct oil changes, lubrication of equipment, tire replacements, hose repairs, battery replacements, and assorted services Service attachments and working tools: reconditioning and replacing of assorted parts of the heavy equipment Develop and maintain a consistent schedule of performing preventative maintenance of all Herc Rentals owned fleet at your branch Perform routine maintenance and repairs on all Herc Rentals fleet equipment Assist shop lead with customer damage estimates and repairs Enter and review work orders and complete part ordering via fleet management system Diagnoses problem areas for any significant wear or tear on the equipment Take service calls when shop lead is absent and dispatch Field Service Mechanic to ensure repairs are completed in a timely and efficient fashion Assist in training “C” and “B” Mechanics while taking direction from the shop lead Requirements: Education: Completion of secondary school is required. Experience: 5yrs of working experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic. A minimum of three years of experience in the trade is required.
Welding experience is an asset. Driver’s license is required.
