Head of Marketing

Bloom Toronto

Job Description

Job Description

Job Description

Bloom is a community of adults 50+ learning, connecting and redefining a new phase of life. We're on a mission to change the aging narrative and redefine retirement.

Many of us spend longer planning a 2-week vacation than we do planning for our retirement. And although there's plenty of tools and services available to help us prepare to transition financially, there's not much out there to help us with all the other transitions that we'll experience.

Who will I become when I retire - when I've given up my current identity, knowledge, and power? How do I find meaning and purpose? How do I handle the changing relationships with my children, family, and friends? How can I overcome old habits and the self-sabotaging thoughts that no longer serve me?

These issues remain out of traditional retirement planning conversations, so we end up without a plan for the mental, social, physical, and spiritual aspects of retirement that many of us are faced with.

That's why we founded Bloom. To unravel the wide range of thoughts and feelings that can surface - even those that are hard to talk about - and create a safe and welcoming space to explore them together.

We're based in Toronto and backed by top tier venture capitalists in NYC and SF.

What you will be doing:

  • Strategy + Execution: Effectively develop a holistic marketing strategy and plan that includes demand generation, brand, product marketing, customer marketing, and content marketing,
  • Brand: Work with Bloom's Chief Brand Officer to build and maintain the company brand, including messaging, tone, design, and public and analyst relations to drive heightened awareness and brand loyalty
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Maintain strong communication and collaboration with Community and Product teams to deliver on marketing objectives
  • Team Building: Lead, coach, and grow the Marketing team as you create alignment and set priorities, all while making every person on the team a better marketer
  • Marketing Analytics: Establish clear KPIs and processes for reporting on the effectiveness of marketing efforts and leverage marketing analytics to empower data-informed decisions

What you would ideally bring to the team:

  • 5+ years experience in marketing
  • 5+ years direct work experience in a high-growth SaaS company (ideally B2C)
  • You know how to develop, evolve, and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy
  • Proven strategic marketer, but also a hands-on leader who's willing to embody a make it happen mindset
  • Brand-centric with a creative intuition and an excellent eye for design
  • History of developing, inspiring, retaining, and coaching a marketing team to drive attainment of ambitious company objectives
  • Mastery of the data, analytics, marketing funnel metrics, and KPIs associated with a B2C SaaS company
  • Understanding of and/or experience with growing world-class communities
