Head Instructor DGA Careers is pleased to be assisting the IBAO in their search for a Head Instructor. The Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO) represents over 16,000 licensed brokers across the province and is a leading voice in broker education and advocacy. As part of its ongoing commitment to educational excellence, IBAO is seeking a Head Instructor to lead and support the delivery of its core programs: CAIB (Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker) and RIBO Level 1 Licensing (Broker Launchpad and Exam Clinic).
This is a full-time, hybrid position that combines instruction, course development, and facilitator leadership. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator with experience in both the brokerage world and adult education. Some travel within Ontario and across Canada may be required.
Facilitation Deliver CAIB (Levels 1–4) and RIBO Level 1 courses in both in-person and virtual formats, including immersion and online group discussions. Support learners in the Exam Clinic and contribute to building a standardized, scalable delivery model. Work from IBAO’s hybrid classrooms as needed and align with the broader department and team of instructors on materials development, course scheduling and consistency in delivery outcomes.
Custom Course Instructor Support custom education sessions for brokerages across Ontario and occasionally for member associations in other provinces. Deliver tailored CAIB and RIBO courses in person or virtually, depending on the client’s needs and scheduling. Course Materials Development Contribute to the creation of facilitator guides and learner materials to support the updated CAIB curriculum.
Collaborate on Continuing Education initiatives, offering real-world insights into broker workflows to help shape eLearning content, assessments, and support materials. Delivery Team Collaboration Act as the lead liaison for IBAO’s network of contracted instructors, supporting consistent course delivery and continuous improvement. Participate in quarterly collaboration sessions, provide operational input to the Education team, and oversee the coordination of instructor contracts and logistics.
Qualifications: 5–7 years of facilitation/training experience 5–15 years’ experience as an insurance broker RIBO Level 1 license (active); CAIB designation required Post-secondary education in Adult Education or relevant discipline Knowledge of CAIB curriculum, Ontario Auto Policy, RIB Act, and brokerage operations Strong communication skills and experience with virtual delivery platforms Ability to integrate with a wide range of learner types, ages, cultural backgrounds, and foster engaging dialogue Passion and experience in developing classroom materials that further learner comprehension.
