<p>Job Title: Guest Services Coordinator, 100 Elements</p><p>Department: School of Culinary Arts</p><p>Location: College Drive Campus – North Bay, ON</p><p>Status: Temporary Part-Time</p><p>Contract Duration: September 2, 2025 to December 12, 2025</p><p>Hours Per Week: Up to 24 hours</p><p>Pay Rate: $29.67/hour</p><p>Application Deadline: Tuesday, September 2, 2025 – 12:00 p.m.</p><p>The Guest Services Coordinator, 100 Elements, will support student learning and enhance service delivery within the College's Culinary Programs by overseeing front-of-house operations during lunch and dinner service at the 100 Elements Restaurant. This position is responsible for guiding part-time student employees (e.g., CSWP hires) assigned to the restaurant, ensuring a professional, inclusive, and safe environment that reflects industry standards. The incumbent will provide best practice leadership in guest services, coordinate table service logistics, oversee point-of-sale and cash handling procedures, and maintain inventory for front-of-house operations. They play a key role in upholding excellence in customer experience, responding to guest needs, and resolving service issues promptly and professionally.</p><p>Responsibilities: </p><ul><li>Oversee and mentor students during live dinner service, modelling professional hospitality standards.</li><li>Provide real-time coaching and feedback to reinforce learning outcomes and ensure an exceptional guest experience.</li><li>Coordinate table set-ups, reservations, and service flow to maintain smooth operations</li><li>Uphold ambiance, presentation, and guest-service standards throughout each service period.</li><li>The ability to lead, guide and coach students through service in a hands-on setting. Confidence in assigning roles and coaching students to understand professional standards.</li><li>Maintain clear, continuous communication with kitchen staff to synchronize order timing and special requests.</li><li>Enforce safe food-handling practices and occupational-health standards.</li><li>Maintain cleanliness, organization, and hazard-free working conditions.</li><li>Ensure accurate and efficient end-of-day financial reconciliation by completing the following tasks:</li><li>Verify that all tables are properly closed in the Point-of-Sale (POS) system.</li><li>Reconcile the cash float and total sales against physical cash and credit card receipts.</li><li>Print and review all credit card transaction reports to ensure consistency and accuracy.</li><li>Run and review the daily sales report to confirm all transactions have been processed.</li><li>Complete the End of Day procedure in the POS system to finalize and archive sales for the day.</li><li>Perform other related duties as assigned</li></ul><p>Qualifications: </p><ul><li>Two-year diploma or degree in a related field (e.g., Hospitality Management, Culinary Management, or Food & Beverage Operations). Applicants from other relevant disciplines are encouraged to apply.</li><li>Valid Safe Food Handling Certification, First Aid and CPR Certification, and Smart Serve Certification required</li><li>Recent training in Sanitation and Health & Safety Protocols an asset</li><li>Certified Chef de Cuisine (C.C.C.) designation or equivalent is an asset</li><li>Minimum of one year in front-of-house food & beverage roles; supervisory or management experience is an asset</li><li>Experience in a fine dining setting considered an asset</li><li>Experience working in a training or learning environment considered an asset</li><li>Familiarity and experience working with POS systems</li><li>Strong client services, conflict resolution, organizational and time management skills</li><li>Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, mentorship, and work effectively within a team</li><li>In-person, on-campus position.
