<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p>JLP Services Inc. is currently seeking an Junior Geotechnical Coordinator. JLP currently provides a range of Geotechnical Services, including but not limited to: Investigation, Materials Testing and Inspection, Instrumentation and Monitoring, Shoring Excavation and Monitoring and Foundation Recommendations. </p><p>Please note that position requires a minimum of 2 to 4 years of local southwestern Ontario experience. <strong>Local applicant only. Not an LMIA position. </strong></p><p><b>Role Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li>Conducting field investigations, including borehole layout, utility clearances, supervision of drill rigs and/or excavators, logging boreholes and test pits, and surveying.</li><li>Performing construction site reconnaissance, observations, and inspections (e.g., footing inspections, subgrade inspection, retaining wall inspection).</li><li>Reviewing soil and rock samples in our laboratory, coordinating geotechnical laboratory testing, and compiling test results and borehole logs.</li><li>Analyzing and modeling slope stability, settlement, foundation design, soil retaining structures, and other geotechnical challenges.</li><li>Preparation of Geotechnical Investigation Reports, Technical Memos, Scope of Work</li><li>Client Communication and business development.</li><li>Training and mentorship of junior employees. </li></ul><p><b>Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li>CCIL Certifications </li></ul><p><b>Skills:</b></p><ul><li>Exceptional interpersonal, organizational and critical thinking skills</li><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills, including technical writing ability.</li><li>An understanding of materials testing and inspection, road reconstruction, rebar inspection and general construction practices. </li><li>Proficiency in AutoCad, gINT, Slide, AqteSolv MS Office and AutoCAD (preferred).</li></ul><p><b>Education and Experience:</b></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree in Geotechnical (Civil or Geological) Engineering.</li><li>Master’s Degree- asset</li></ul><p><b>What we have to offer:</b></p><ul><li>Opportunity to work on projects varying in sizes and complexity.</li><li>Competitive salary and employee share/ownership program</li><li>Learning and development programs, training, and career building</li><li>Health Benefits</li></ul><p>Our solution-based approach stems from dedicated, driven, and passionate employees with varying perspectives for our clients and the communities we work and live in.
