Hyatt General Managers are the embodiment of the Hyatt brand experience and culture, accountable for :

  • Overseeing the overall strategy, performance, and profitability of the property, ensuring operational excellence.
  • Aligning with Hyatt’s core values to maximize revenue and profit opportunities and managing the property asset effectively.
  • Leading a team with integrity to build trust and cultivate positive guest and colleague experiences.
  • Continuously improving all areas of the property and adapting to rapidly changing environments.
  • Demonstrating excellence in guest experience and overall hotel performance, bringing Hyatt’s values to life.

Operations & Business Acumen

  • Managing owners’ assets with a focus on maximizing returns and delivering Hyatt’s value proposition.
  • Developing and executing a multi-year business strategy focused on brand positioning.
  • Maintaining positive relationships with property ownership.
  • Utilizing data insights for decision-making.
  • Understanding financials, including departmental P&Ls, financial reporting, forecasting, and planning.
  • Improving practices to meet guest quality expectations.
  • Optimizing sales and revenue management strategies for growth and profitability.
  • Ensuring the property is well-maintained to preserve asset value.
  • Leading capital planning and using owner’s capital effectively.
  • Embracing technology and digital initiatives to enhance performance.
  • Ensuring safety for colleagues and guests.
  • Aligning operations, guest service, and offerings with the brand.
  • Promoting environmental sustainability.

Qualifications

  • Current luxury hotel General Manager experience required.
  • Experience with commercial services preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Experience managing owner relations and leading in unionized environments.
  • Educational background with ongoing learning.
