Salary Range: 180,000 – 222,000 CAD
Responsibilities
- Strategic leadership, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and business development, ensuring alignment with the Company’s long-term strategy.
- Manage and oversee all daily port operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality services for cruise lines, guests, and stakeholders.
- Lead and manage strategic business initiatives to drive growth, increase passenger traffic, and enhance port profitability.
- Act as the primary liaison between the port and GPH headquarters, providing regular updates to the COO, board members, and shareholders on performance, operational challenges, and strategic developments.
- Ensure full compliance with all regulatory, environmental, and safety requirements, both local and international.
- Monitor and report on financial performance, customer satisfaction, and operational risks.
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing port management team to deliver operational excellence.
- Interacts strategically with stakeholders to optimize delivery and create service quality excellence.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with cruise line partners, local government entities, tourism boards, transportation providers, and the community.
- Champion sustainable and responsible port practices that benefit the community and environment.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with indigenous communities, ensuring respectful and meaningful engagement, and collaboration on enabling greater indigenous tourism opportunities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Maritime Studies, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- Minimum 10 years of senior management experience, preferably in cruise port, maritime logistics, or hospitality sectors.
- Project management experience is a plus.
- Strong financial management, leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proven track record of leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering financial and operational results.
- Strong knowledge of cruise industry standards, port operations, and safety protocols.
- Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management skills in building strong relationships.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
- Eligibility to work in Canada is a must.
