About the Company:

A1 Imports is a Canadian leader in the import and distribution of a variety of products. Our Fiberwood division specializes in wood composite building products, including exterior and interior cladding, decking, fencing, and sheds. We work with regional and national distributors, as well as retailers, across Canada.



We are seeking a General Manager to oversee corporate sales, coordinate strategic operations, and lead product and marketing development within the division. This key position ensures the achievement of overall objectives while fostering sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities:



1. Strategic and Operational Leadership:

  1. Oversee the division’s daily operations, ensuring efficiency and overall performance.
  2. Develop and implement the division’s global strategy in collaboration with sales and marketing teams.
  3. Coordinate the development of key performance objectives for functions and direct reports.
  4. Communicate strategy and results to employees, ensuring understanding and alignment with objectives.
  5. Create sales and performance reports for the division and track progress with relevant teams.
  6. Develop, monitor, and ensure the achievement of the division’s corporate objectives.
  7. Manage the Sales Director and Regional Directors to support them in meeting their goals.
  8. Actively participate in key client activities and major events, providing strategic support to the sales team.


2. Marketing and Product Development:

  1. Collaborate with the production team to develop new products and enhance existing ones.
  2. Ensure the creation of tactical programs to achieve specific strategic objectives.
  3. Oversee the design and implementation of marketing strategies to enhance brand visibility and market penetration.


3. Organizational Development:


  1. Oversee hiring & employee development programs to ensure the retention of a talented team.
  2. Foster a healthy internal culture that retains key employees and supports their professional growth.
  3. Support training and development initiatives to enhance employee skills.

Qualifications:


Experience:

  1. Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales management, strategic development, or general management, ideally in the building products or related industries.
  2. Proven track record of managing cross-functional teams and overseeing operations.


Skills:

  1. Strategic leadership with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
  2. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  3. Expertise in performance management and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs).
  4. Ability to develop and implement marketing and product development strategies.
  5. Excellent analytical skills to assess market trends and business opportunities.


Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Management, or a related field. An MBA is an asset.
