Our client is a leading North American metal manufacturer serving key industries such as automotive and architecture.

With over 30 years of success, they operate across five facilities and employ 750+ professionals, continuously driving innovation and excellence in metal manufacturing.

Why does the opportunity exist?

The company is seeking a General Manager for their Brampton production facility and Mississauga facility with over 250 employees. This pivotal leadership role will build efficiencies and steer the facility toward growth and profitability.


Mandate

The General Manager will have overall P&L accountability for the Brampton and Mississauga Division and will be responsible for steering it toward achieving its vision and strategic growth targets. This mandate includes two key components:



  • Operational Excellence: Generate significantly higher manufacturing performance by building an operating culture rooted in best-in-class manufacturing methods and continuous improvement.
  • Revenue Growth: Drive commercial performance by growing revenue from existing customers while strategically planning to attract new ones.

The ideal candidate is a smart, hands-on, detail-oriented leader who can coach plant team leaders and functional managers to enhance quality, delivery, and commercial performance through effective performance management and innovative, low-cost solutions.

What we are looking for:

To be considered for this impactful role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and experiences:


1. Overall: 15+ years of experience in manufacturing/operations management, ideally within the extrusion, oil & gas, or metal manufacturing industries.



2. Leadership: 3 to 5 years of experience in a General Manager role with direct oversight of sales and business development functions. A proven track record of successfully leading and motivating teams, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.


3. Financial Acumen: Strong financial and cost management skills, with a demonstrated history of meeting operational and financial goals.


4. Education: A bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
