We’re seeking a committed and passionate General Manager to carry forward this legacy, someone who thrives in the arts and wants to make a lasting difference in the lives of children, families, and our broader community.
About the Role
The General Manager serves as the administrative lead and ambassador of the Mount Royal Children’s and Youth Choirs, the Mount Royal Choral Association, and Mount Royal University. You’ll manage operations with a positive, professional attitude, helping our choirs grow and flourish.

Responsibilities
Office Management & Program Support
- Support Artistic staff with planning and delivering seasonal programming
- Coordinate volunteers, uniforms, music binders, and weekly family communications
- Manage logistics for concerts, workshops, camps, and events
- Coordinate fundraising campaigns and assist with casino events
- Lead grant application and reporting processes
- Foster sponsor relationships and explore new funding streams
- Develop and manage budgets with Artistic Director & Treasurer
- Maintain accurate financial records; coordinate with bookkeeper and accountant
Marketing & Promotion
- Create promotional material (following MRU branding)
- Manage website and social media presence
- Coordinate advertising and communications
Executive & Board Duties
- Attend MRCA Board meetings and AGMs
- Prepare agendas, facilitate reports, and support committees
- Ensure society filings and policies are up to date
Skills
- Strong communication skills (verbal, interpersonal, written).
- Highly organized, focused and effective in meeting deliverables.
- Well-developed skills in Microsoft Office, Google doc, QuickBooks, Canva.
Structure and Time Commitment
- The General Manager reports directly to the MRCA Board of Directors, in a permanent, part-time role.
- The position requires approximately 25 hours per week to complete deliverables.
- Work hours are flexible, outside of the requirement to attend all evening rehearsals and weekend events.
- Actual hours worked each week will vary according to the season’s activities, with duties performed both onsite at the MRU Conservatory and remotely.
