Job description:
As the General Manager of Front of House at St. Augustine’s Pub, you will drive revenue and profitability for our establishment. Your role will be pivotal in developing and executing strategies to boost revenue, enhance guest satisfaction, and optimize operational efficiency within our pub. You’ll manage labour and liquor costs, events and promotions.

Your team management skills will contribute to creating a safe and inclusive work environment for all St. Augustine’s Pub team members and guests.

Duties & Responsibilities:
-Develop and implement revenue generation strategies tailored to St. Augustine’s Pub’s unique offerings and target market.
– Streamline operational processes and establish Standard Operating Procedures to enhance productivity, minimize waste, and optimize resource allocation in line with revenue goals.
– Craft promotions and events to attract and retain patrons.
– Work closely with the ownership team to create revenue forecasts, manage budgets, and analyze financial reports to meet or exceed revenue targets.
– Manage a front-of-house team, including scheduling, training, supervision, performance management, and career development.
– Provide outstanding customer service to guests and exceptional leadership to employees.
– Enforce and monitor all health, safety, and sanitation standards.
– Manage bi-weekly payroll, including cash tip payouts and tip submissions to Accounting.
– Update tap menus, including adding fresh releases.
– Assist with server, supervisor, and assistant general manager duties.
– Contribute to a positive work environment, fostering teamwork and collaboration among staff to build strong team morale.

Qualifications:
– A minimum of 5 years of experience in the food and beverage industry is required.
– A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience is required for external applicants.
– Must be of legal drinking age and possess a valid serving it right certificate.
– Strong leadership and management skills, with experience managing teams of 20+ staff.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
– Proven track record of achieving financial targets.
– Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
– Experience in using restaurant software, including Point of Sale and shift scheduling software.
– Knowledge of Excel and email platforms. Knowledge of Google Suite is an asset.
– Experience in onboarding new staff.
– Ability to stand for long periods, move/walk consistently throughout your shift, and lift up to 50 pounds.
– Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
– Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
– A bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field is preferred but not required.



Preferred Skills:
– Knowledge of business operations, including profits and loss methodology.
– Knowledge and passion for craft beer, brewing processes, and industry trends.
– Experience in creating employee communications and SOPs.
– Experience in assisting with revenue-generating events and promotions.
