Our Richmond terminal currently has multiple vacancies for General Labourers within Container Services.
Rate of Pay – this is a unionized position.
- New Hire Rate: $28.21 per hour for the first 6 months of employment.
- Full Rate: $30.21 per hour upon completion of 6 months of employment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for preparing marine containers for cargo shipment.
- Perform washing and painting of containers as needed.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, & WORKING CONDITIONS:
Skills & Experience
- Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs.
- Forklift experience (16,000 lbs. capacity or greater) considered an asset.
Working Conditions
- Shift work scheduled daily based on seniority, including on-call and weekend shifts.
- Industrial location — includes a mechanics and maintenance shop, warehouse, lumber yard, and container yard.
- Indoor and outdoor work environment with exposure to varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and noise.
- Frequent exposure to heavy equipment operating on-site.
