We’re Hiring: General Accountant

We’re looking for a General Accountant who’s confident working across a variety of accounting functions. From journal entries to inventory reconciliation and financial reporting, you’ll play a key role in ensuring clean, accurate, and timely financials. This position offers a great mix of hands-on tasks and the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
What You’ll Be Doing
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries for revenue, expenses, and balance sheet items
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank transactions and intercompany accounts
- Assist with monthly close processes and financial statement preparation
- Monitor inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS); produce regular reports and analysis
- Maintain subsidiary ledgers and prepare supporting schedules
- Verify and process accounts payable and receivable entries
- Support GST/HST, WSIB, and EHT filings
- Assist with payroll-related accounting and month-end accruals
- Support the finance team with audits, year-end prep, and ad hoc reporting
- Help manage data in accounting platforms (QuickBooks Online and others)
- Ensure proper filing, record keeping, and compliance with internal controls
What You Bring to the Table
- 3+ years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and month-end processes
- Experience with QuickBooks Online and inventory systems
- Strong Excel skills: you’re comfortable with pivot tables and data organization
- Detail-oriented mindset and a knack for spotting discrepancies
- Comfortable juggling multiple tasks and meeting deadlines
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA designation (or actively working toward it) is a plus
- Familiarity with ERP implementations is a bonus
