Job: Food Transportation & Fleet Manager- Food ; Union Location: Mississauga – Brampton, ON area Base Salary: 85K-105K base , bonus Industry: Food 5 days a week on Site Our Client is a well-established Food processing and packaging company and have a job open for Food Transportation & Fleet Manager to manage their out bound food Transportation, delivery, shipping, fleet , drivers in a unionized environment to big box retailers like Walmart, Loblaw and Food Service. The role is a people management position to managed unionized work force-drivers and dispatchers, manage performance of the 3rd party food carriers, budgets and routing. This is a Continuous Improvement role to oversee the existing outbound operation across Canada and to optimize trailers, lanes and loads.
The role is based in Mississauga- Brampton, ON area 5 days a week on site . Experience managing unionized drivers within a JIT environment is a MUST . This is a day shift but will require ability to be on call, off duty hours.
Food Transportation & Fleet Manager – Food is a people leadership role to ensure on time delivery of short shelf life -fresh / frozen foods across Canada and locally in GTA. You will manage driver performance of unionized work force and also manage the 3rd party temperature-controlled carriers, their performance and assist in selection -RFP RFQ process. You will be fully responsible for routing lanes across all provinces for long hauls, local last mile milk runs and for GTA local distribution.
Unionized driver management, their hours, coaching, mentoring , performance management, scheduling. You will manage all the transportation dispatchers and be the first point of contact for customer delivery complaints, on road issues, delays, weather limitations etc. to ensure on time delivery in a JIT fast paced cross doc union facility. Food Transportation & Fleet Manager will have minimum 5 years in leadership/ people management of unionized work force (MUST have) , in -house driver management, load planning and routing experience.
Union negotiations, grievances and similar experience is a MUST. Previous experience of routing across Canada is a MUST. Temperature controlled food, GMP HACCP and Health Canadacompliance experience, transportation spends, budgets, RFP RFQ experience all ideally required.
This is a day shift with the ability to be on-call, off shift. Degrees is preferred; Professional designations / courses in logistics transportation supply chain CCLP, P. Log, CITP is highly preferred.
