• Prepare and present accurate consolidated financial statements and accompanying notes in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), expertly managing all aspects of multi-currency translation and consolidation.
• Oversee all operational accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash flow management.
• Act as the key liaison for the annual external audit, preparing all necessary schedules and documentation to ensure an efficient and successful engagement.
2. Internal Controls, Systems & Process Improvement:
• Leverage superior technical skills to design, implement, and maintain a robust framework of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
• Take ownership of the financial systems landscape, with expert-level proficiency in Xero and advanced ERP capabilities, to ensure financial information is both accurate and accessible.
• Proactively identify and lead initiatives for business process improvement and automation, driving efficiencies and scalability within the accounting function.
3. Cost Accounting & Business Partnership:
• Develop, maintain, and enhance the standard costing system to ensure accurate product costing, inventory valuation, and margin analysis.
• Perform in-depth analysis of manufacturing variances and partner directly with plant and supply chain leadership to identify root causes, drive cost savings, and improve operational efficiency.
• Oversee all aspects of inventory accounting, including the coordination of physical counts, valuation, and the analysis of excess and obsolete inventory reserves.
4.

Leadership & Strategic Support:
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, precision, and continuous improvement.
• Partner with the CFO and senior leadership to model financial scenarios and provide data-driven insights to support key strategic decisions, including potential M&A or divestiture activities.
Who You Are: Qualifications & Attributes
• Professional Designation: CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) designation is required.
• Experience: A minimum of 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 4 years in a senior role (e.g., Controller, Assistant Controller) within a manufacturing organization.
