<p><h3>Overview</h3><p>Faculty Member, Medical Oncology — tenure-track position in the Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WCVM).</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>High-quality instruction in oncology to undergraduate and graduate veterinary students.</li><li>Participation in the clinical teaching and service programs of the Small Animal Clinic within the Veterinary Medical Centre (VMC).</li><li>Development of an independent or collaborative research program with other members of the oncology team.</li><li>Contribute to the continuing education of practicing veterinarians.</li><li>Commitment: 75% clinical service and 25% formal teaching.</li></ul><h3>About the WCVM and VMC</h3><p>The WCVM is Western Canada’s regional college of veterinary medicine, affiliated with a comprehensive academic health sciences group on the University of Saskatchewan campus. The VMC is AVMA and AAHA accredited and provides specialty services, undergraduate and graduate training, and access to advanced imaging and treatment facilities.</p><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent and eligibility for licensure to practice veterinary medicine in Saskatchewan.</li><li>Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Oncology) or credentials acceptable to the ACVIM (Oncology) at the time of appointment.</li><li>Possession of an advanced degree is desirable.</li></ul><h3>Salary and Start-Up</h3><ul><li>Salary bands for 2025-2026: Assistant Professor — $110,489 to $131,909; Associate Professor — $131,909 to $153,329; Professor — $153,329 to $187,319; negotiable based on qualifications and experience.</li><li>Attractive research start-up package.</li><li>Benefits include 6 weeks vacation; health, dental, and extended vision care; pension; life insurance; sick leave; long-term disability; employee assistance program; flexible health and wellness spending plan; travel insurance; and professional expense allowance.</li></ul><h3>Application Process</h3><p>Interested candidates should submit via email a cover letter, detailed curriculum vitae, and supporting documents to Dr. Andy Allen, Interim Head, Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences, WCVM, University of Saskatchewan.
