Spectrum Family Law LLP is a boutique family law firm with offices in Edmonton, Calgary, and Vancouver.<br /><br />We are a collegial law firm and are currently looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, service-oriented Paralegal to join our Edmonton Office who shares our passion for providing quality legal services within a team of dedicated lawyers and paralegals.<br /><br /> JOB TYPE <br /><br />Paralegal<br /><br />Job Type: Full-time, Edmonton Office<br /><br /> REQUIREMENTS AND CANDIDATE ASSETS <br /><br />The ideal candidate will:<br /> Have a Legal Assistant Diploma or Certificate.<br /> Possess two or more years of relevant work experience;<br /> Have developed professional communication skills;<br /> Have strong organizational skills with an emphasis on attention to detail;<br /> Have a positive attitude and willing to take initiative;<br /> Able to provide fulsome support to lawyers; and<br /> Is self-motivated and can work independently but also values in a team-based environment.<br /><br /> RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> Preparing and typing correspondence, pleadings, etc;<br /> Arranging for court filing of documents both by email and online filing;<br /> Preparing and maintaining a diarizing system for court dates, questionings, meetings and appointments;<br /> Tracking the lawyer's billing statistics, including retainers received and overdue/unpaid accounts;<br /> Processing all relevant incoming and outgoing mail;<br /> Scheduling appointments and meetings and preparing documentation for those appointments and meetings;<br /> Assisting clients over the phone and via email with requests for updates on file matters and information on billing matters;<br /> Scheduling court runners and couriers;<br /> Maintaining client files in paper and electronic form;<br /> Helping cover reception telephones; and<br /> Assisting couriers and other guests that attend the office from time to time.<br /><br /> WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU? <br /> Access to keen mentorship in a collegial and welcoming environment in order to develop the skills and knowledge needed;<br /> Work in an interesting, rewarding, and ever-changing area of the law; and<br /> Access to comprehensive legal software.<br /><br />Job Types: Full-time, Permanent<br /><br />Schedule:<br /> Monday to Friday<br /><br />Work Location: In personCreate Your Resume First
