<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p>Salary: $300 for Full-Day, $150 for Half-Day<br /><p>About the Insurance Council</p><p>The Insurance Council of British Columbia is the regulatory organization that licenses and regulates the activities of over 50,000 life and general insurance agents, general insurance salespersons, insurance adjusters, and restricted travel insurance agents in British Columbia.</p><p></p><p>The Opportunity</p><p>An important part of the Insurance Council of British Columbia's ("Insurance Council") responsibilities is to oversee various educational requirements, including qualifying examinations. To assist in providing this service, Insurance Council utilizes examination invigilators on an as required basis. Examination invigilators are responsible for overseeing various examinations and supporting examinees in adhering to examination rules and procedures. Their responsibilities also include, but are not limited to, ensuring a safe and orderly environment, setting up the test room, recording attendance, and assisting as well as taking direction from the organization's staff on examination-related matters.</p><p><br /></p><p>*This is a contract role on an as-needed basis.*</p><p><br /></p><p>Duties and Responsibilities<br /></p><ul><li>PIck-up exam packages from the designated courier location and return the completed exams and other exam related documentation to the Insurance Council office via courier within 24 hours of completion of the exams.</li><li>Coordinate with fellow proctors to arrange the transfer and preparation of examination materials at least 10 business days prior to your next shift. </li><li>Check-in and seat examinees in the exam room according to established procedures and seating arrangements.</li><li>Inform examinees of Insurance Council exam rules and adhere to the proctoring guidelines and manuals.</li><li>Organize, distribute and collect all exam materials as directed by Insurance Council Examinations staff.</li><li>Set-up and take-down of exam room. Arrange tables and chairs to match Insurance Councils exam room set-up and rearrange the room to its original state at the end of the day.</li><li>Interact professionally with examinees.</li><li>Maintain a professional and pleasant atmosphere to create an environment for optimal test performance for all examinees.</li><li>Monitor the exam room and examinees at all times to ensure compliance of the exam rules.</li><li>Maintain test security to ensure confidentiality, integrity of test materials, and test procedures.</li><li>Make clear and uphold Insurance Councils exam rules and complete a proctor feedback form for each exam sitting, as well as an incident report if there is a violation.</li><li>Be vigilant and be seen to be vigilant when monitoring the exam room.</li><li>Report any irregular circumstances causing significant disruptions to the examinations to theInsurance Council Examinations staff.</li><li>Ensure all examination papers and materials have been collected and returned in good order.</li><li>Restock and refresh exam materials after each exam sitting, such as, charging the tablets, sharpening used pencils, etc.</li><li>Perform sanitation duties in between every exam sitting.</li><li>Guide and lead examinees to a safe refuge during an emergency, while ensuring compliance with exam rules.</li><li>Take direction from Insurance Councils Examinations staff with any other exam administration matters.</li></ul><p></p><p>Qualifications and Experience</p><ul><li>Valid Drivers Licence and access to personal vehicle for work-related purposes is required</li><li>Must speak fluent English.</li><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills.</li><li>Post-secondary degree or higher is preferred</li><li>Experience working in a university or school setting is an asset</li><li>Experience with examination invigilation is an asset</li><li>Ability to comfortably and regularly lift up to 50 lbs is required.</li><li>Must know how to use a tablet and feel comfortable assisting others.</li><li>Basic skills in navigating a laptop or desktop computer.</li><li>Ability to work independently and within a team.</li><li>Trustworthy, conscientious, reliable and punctual.</li><li>Upholds the confidentiality and integrity of examinations.</li><li>Takes initiative when responding to unexpected situations.</li><li>Sensitivity in dealing with examinees from a wide range of backgrounds.</li><li>Physically able to cope with extended periods of pacing, standing or sitting and light furniture movement.<br /></li><li>Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor at all times.</li></ul></p></p>Browse Jobs in Canada by City
