Job Title: Commercial Estimator

Location: Greater Toronto Area (GTA), ON

Salary: $100,000 - $130,000 base + bonus, benefits, and vacation

About the Opportunity:

As a Commercial Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in the pre-construction process, providing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for a range of commercial projects. Your expertise will guide decision-making and contribute to the successful planning and execution of the company’s projects. Collaborating closely with architects, engineers, project managers, and clients, you will ensure that all estimates align with project goals, budgets, and timelines. This position offers an opportunity to impact the financial and operational success of the projects while being part of a team that prioritizes support and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

· Review project plans, specifications, and related documents to understand the scope and requirements.

· Prepare hard bids with detailed cost estimates by analyzing labor, material, equipment, and time requirements.

· Develop and submit competitive bids, ensuring all components are accurate and align with company standards.

· Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to determine the best options.

· Identify potential risks and challenges in the project and incorporate contingencies into estimates.

· Work closely with the project management team to ensure estimates are accurate and reflect project objectives.

· Maintain detailed records of estimates, proposals, and other relevant documentation.

· Stay updated with industry trends, costs, and best practices to enhance the accuracy and competitiveness of estimates.

What You Bring:

· Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.

· 5+ years of experience in construction estimating, preferably within the commercial sector.

· Proficiency in estimating software and tools.

· Strong analytical and mathematical skills.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

· Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

· Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

· A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
