Position: Engineering Manager - Software Delivery & Innovation
Location: Toronto, ON (2 days onsite/ week, flexibility required)
We're working with a well-established fintech leader that plays a central role in Canada's investment infrastructure. They're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a full-stack agile team and drive innovation through emerging technologies and proof-of-concepts.
This is a people-first leadership role with a strong technical focus - ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and loves solving real business problems with technology.
What You'll Do:
- Manage and mentor a cross-functional agile team (Java Developers, QEs, Sr. Data Engineers, and co-ops)
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of high-impact, mission-critical applications
- Collaborate across engineering, architecture, and business teams to drive outcomes
- Champion innovation - lead an internal innovation lab focused on emerging tech, prototyping, and internal enablement
- Prioritize and plan delivery milestones, remove blockers, and ensure accountability
- Bring strategic thinking and adaptability to a changing technology landscape
What You Bring:
- 3-5+ years in engineering leadership roles, including direct people management
- Strong background in Java-based development and modern software delivery
- Familiarity with Azure Cloud (or other major cloud platforms)
- Exposure to architecture, QA leadership, and enterprise-scale software delivery
- Experience working on mission-critical systems (financial services a plus)
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and change in a growing organization
