An Engineer in security Platform Engineering Orchestration and logistics team plays a critical role in shaping and communicating project status, technical information, executive reports, and data-driven insights. This position is essential for ensuring effective communication and collaboration within the team and with stakeholders, ensuring the security solutions are operational and meet all the requirements, resolving any gaps or challenges that arise during the implementation of highly complex physical and Cloud-based platforms. The Engineer contributes to the development of key project and technical documentation and dashboards, which requires a strong knowledge of cloud solutions and command of various software tools, including Office 365 and Power BI, and exceptional communication and project management skills to support the team’s objectives.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
- Have knowledge of network design and system infrastructure, including servers, storage, and virtualization technologies in private and public clouds to assist with implementation, incorporate processes into security strategies, and document security solutions implementation.
- Collaborate closely with members of the cyber security engineers, clients, development team, and vendors to align content strategy with project goals and objectives, identify and understand the requirements, assist with system architecture and network design, understand operational challenges, and provide support and assistance as needed to achieve team objectives.
- Leverage expertise in Power BI and Office 365 applications, including Excel, Visio, SharePoint, and other relevant software, to visualize and analyze key performance indicators, security metrics, and project data, and efficiently manage, organize, and present information.
- Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to, and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:
- 3 years of experience in Network Security, architecture, and applications infrastructure.
- 3 years of working with cloud security and technologies, preferably GCP.
- Familiarity with automating deployment processes and working with CI/CD tools (Terraform, Google Cloud Deployment, etc.).
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar tools for project tracking and collaboration.
- Effective project management abilities.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.
- Strong analytical skills.
Communication
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong documentation skills, including the ability to create and maintain detailed system, network, and technical design documents.
And it would be nice to have:
- Security-related Certifications will be an advantage.
- Cloud-related Certifications will be an advantage.
- Experience with Azure DevOps services.
- Knowledge and/or ability to speak Spanish.
