<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p><p><p><p><p><p></p></p></p></p></p></p><p><p><p><strong>Summary: </strong>The Driver DZ will be responsible for safely operating straight trucks, tanker commercial vehicles and delivering goods to various customer locations while maintaining a high standard of customer service. This role involves loading and unloading cargo, ensuring timely deliveries, and complying with all company and MTO regulations.</p><p><strong>Essential duties of Position:</strong></p><ul><li>Safely operate straight trucks, tankers and other commercial vehicles that require a valid DZ license to transport products to customer locations across various routes. Ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods in accordance with customer expectations</li><li>Assist in loading and unloading products at warehouse locations and customer sites. Ensure all cargo is secured properly and accurately matches order details</li><li>Follow all safety protocols, including Canadian Commercial Vehicle Operators’ Regulations (CVOR) and Transport Canada guidelines. Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to maintain vehicle safety</li><li>Complete all required paperwork, including delivery receipts, trip logs, and vehicle inspection reports, ensuring accuracy and timely submission to the company</li><li>Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues as needed. Uphold the company’s professional image during all deliveries</li><li>Plan delivery routes for maximum efficiency, considering factors like traffic, road conditions, and weather. Communicate with dispatch regarding any delays or route changes</li><li>Monitor vehicle condition and report any issues or required maintenance to management. Keep the vehicle clean and in optimal working condition</li><li>Follow all company policies and procedures, including safety standards, accident/incident reporting, and punctual delivery schedules</li><li>Work closely with dispatchers, warehouse personnel, and other drivers to ensure smooth operations and meet delivery deadlines</li><li>Other duties assigned by management</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent (required)</li><li>One (1) – three (3) years of verifiable related experience and/or training (preferred)</li><li>DZ endorsement (required)</li><li>Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) a plus</li><li>Possess a valid DZ license, and equipment certifications</li><li>Provide a Drivers Abstract (required)</li><li>Clean driving record with no major violations</li><li>Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check</li><li>Availability to work flexible hours, including overtime and occasional weekends.</li></ul><p><strong>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed:</strong></p><ul><li>Strong knowledge of MTO regulations and safety protocols</li><li>Excellent communication and customer service skills</li><li>Ability to handle physical labor, including loading/unloading cargo</li><li>Good problem-solving skills and the ability to plan efficient routes</li><li>Good verbal and written communication skills</li><li>Ability to complete tasks within a deadline</li><li>Excellent customer service skills</li></ul><p><strong>Physical Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and perform physical tasks related to loading/unloading</li><li>Ability to sit for long periods of time while driving</li><li>Willingness to work in various weather conditions</li></ul><p><br /></p></p></p></p></p>
