WHAT YOU WILL DO


  • Detailed Aluminum Curtainwall, Entrance and Window Shop Drawings.
  • Ensure understanding and accurate interpretation of Contract Documents, Architectural Drawings, Engineered Drawings, and follow Glass Canada's standards.
  • Produce drawings and documents that are accurate and correct in accordance with the project requirements.
  • Prepare revised drawings as per RFIs, SIs, Change Orders, etc.
  • Ensure proper storage of all files, both paper and electronic.
  • Provide project coordination throughout the Drafting process and ensure that all inquiries are resolved promptly and in a courteous manner.
  • Assisting with the review of order entry information and preparation of approval drawings.
  • Creating approval drawings for projects including 3D models when required.
  • Creating accurate packages for fabrication.
  • Assisting the drafting department with general administrative duties.
  • Providing material parts list (take-offs) to Project Managers.


WHAT YOU WILL NEED


  • Post-Secondary school diploma in Architectural Technology or Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in Drafting/Detailing preferably in Curtain Wall.
  • Ability to produce accurate drawings (shop and fabrication).
  • Ability to interpret Architectural and Structural drawings for coordination with curtain wall design.
  • Knowledge of standard drafting, manufacturing, and erection practices.
  • Knowledge of glazing systems (Curtain Wall, Storefronts, etc.) considered an asset.
  • Must be detail oriented and self-motivating.
  • Promptness and good time management skills are an asset.
  • Promotes positive communication skills to liaise with other employees to enable the Company to achieve its goals and objectives.
  • Must be proactive and strive to improve methods and procedures to gain efficiency.
  • Expert knowledge of Autodesk CAD/ Revit/Excel.
  • Knowledge of other software (Bluebeam, Inventor, etc.) is an asset.
  • A good knowledge of math as it relates to calculations.
