We are committed to diversity and inclusivity, providing a thriving work environment along with benefits, learning and growth opportunities, and a culture of collaboration and teamwork.</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Provide leadership and direction for the Transportation & Fleet Management Services department, including management of road maintenance, winter control, traffic engineering and operations, right-of-way and utility coordination, and fleet services.</li><li>Ensure department direction and activities align with corporate strategies and priorities, comply with regulatory requirements, and position the department for future success.</li><li>Foster a culture of respect, dedication, accountability, and innovation, encouraging staff engagement and contributions to improve performance, value, and citizen satisfaction.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications and Experience</h3><ul><li>Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering, Business, Public Administration, or suitable equivalent.</li><li>Minimum of ten (10) years of demonstrated experience in transportation engineering or maintenance of public infrastructure, including several years of direct senior management experience with program, financial, budget, and human resource management.</li><li>Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with the Professional Engineers of Ontario.</li><li>Strong public speaking skills and experience working with elected officials; proven relationship-building abilities.</li><li>Collaborative leadership style with a passion for building a strong, committed team.</li><li>High-level critical thinking with proactive, strategic planning and the ability to balance multiple priorities.</li></ul><h3>Employment Details</h3><ul><li>Employment type: Permanent Full-Time, Non-Unionized</li><li>Base pay range: CA$196,408.00/yr – CA$229,769.00/yr</li><li>Application deadline: October 17, 2025</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><p>The City of Vaughan is committed to diversity and inclusivity in employment and welcomes applications from qualified individuals of diverse backgrounds.
