Overview The Director, Social & Branded Content role is for someone with 10-12 years of experience in social and content marketing, communications, and PR. In this role, you’ll service our clients as well as the agencies. You’ll lead social and content marketing for clients – overseeing a team of community managers and content creators. You’ll also contribute to business growth by introducing clients to our digital and social offerings. The Director, Social & Branded Content will manage a team of Community Managers and Content Creators, the agencies’ PR budget, and will report to the CEO.
In addition, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining a favourable reputation for agencies that are withing TBWAGroup Canada: DDB Canada and Juniper ParkTBWA by communicating the agencies’ creative output, agency programs, accomplishments, and/or developing thought leadership for its Executive team; first and foremost, towards the marketing industry in Canada (potential new business prospects), and secondly towards creative professionals (for recruitment purposes).
Goals:
Agencies’ Social Media Offering (50%)
Participate in building the agency’s social media offering.
Partner with our existing clients to best use social media to move their consumers and brands.
Oversee and grow a team of community managers and content creators.
Participate in pitches to sell this offering to more brands.
Agencies’ Own Reputation (50%)
Build relationships with industries (our own and our clients’) trade publications.
Create and maintain a leadership reputation for DDB Canada, Juniper ParkTBWA and their employees amongst the business industry in Canada with the goal of raising interest amongst potential new business prospects.
Keep DDB Canada and Juniper ParkTBWA top of mind as two of North America’s most effective and creative agencies.
Build & maintain a stellar reputation amongst the creative industry for talent recruitment purposes.
Responsibilities:
Lead social and content marketing programs for clients
Lead community managers and content creators on concept and campaign development
Support the launch of all agency client marketing and creative campaigns towards Canadian trade press and manage assets for earned and owned media.
Manage and help develop the Executive team’s profiles in the press, on social media, and facilitate their presence at industry-focused events.
Lead the agency’s owned social channels with the support of the agency’s Community Managers and social media teams.
Be the voice of the agency amongst the DDB and TBWA Worldwide PR Ring team, and support and lead the regionalization and adoption of the network’s primary communications initiatives.
Work in tandem with Business Development team on marketing projects.
Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in a digital content, social media and/or PR.
Demonstrated track record of developing and executing engaging and successful social and content marketing programs for clients.
Experience managing a team that executes social and content marketing programs.
Must be a confident communicator and presenter
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must have exceptional organizational and planning skills
Self-motivated with a positive and professional approach to management
Have experience managing relationships with multiple stakeholders across various functions (business leads, creatives, and client communications personnel)
Must understand and love all social media platforms
Have a full understanding of media needs and media relationships; prior relationships with local marketing and advertising trade press a bonus
Be proactive, reliable, responsible, and accurate with an attention to detail
Possess the acute ability to keep information confidential, even in a very social environment
Ability to work in highly strategic projects, hence handling high-pressure
A wide degree of creativity and latitude
Previous exposure to an agency environment is desired, but not required
