and evolving needs of seniors in Calgary and improve Silvera's long-term financial stability.</p><h3>Website : The Opportunity</h3><p>Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Business Solutions, the Director, People and Culture is responsible for leading the development and execution of Silvera's people and workplace strategies, creating an inclusive, engaging, values-driven culture of excellence that is aligned with Silvera's values and business objectives.</p><p>The Director will provide leadership and ongoing management across all aspects of Silvera's human resources function, including employee engagement, talent acquisition, career development, compliance, workforce innovation, technology automation, continuous improvement, goal setting, change management, organizational development and human resources operations.</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Leads a team of professionals providing coaching, mentorship, performance management, objective setting and career development.</li><li>Develops and executes a people and workplace culture strategy that aligns with Silvera's values, business objectives and operational needs.</li><li>Partners with all levels of management to anticipate workforce needs that can be translated into proactive people strategies, mitigating risks to organizational operations and performance.</li><li>Provides leadership and advice on strategic organizational design and establishing a culture that embraces change throughout the organization.</li><li>Partners with organization leadership to develop and enhance business acumen capacity at all levels of management to enable effective decision-making and operational efficiency.</li><li>Strategic advisor on workplace culture, responsive workforce innovation, leadership development, succession planning and employee engagement to ensure long-term organizational stability.</li><li>Leads talent acquisition, development, and retention strategies to ensure a diverse, capable, efficient and future-ready workforce.</li><li>Develops and oversees the organization's orientation, onboarding, learning and development, career laddering pathways, performance management and leadership development processes to drive employee engagement, retention and performance.</li><li>Facilitates succession planning and internal mobility initiatives to build long term organizational resilience.</li><li>Oversees the process of the organization's annual goal setting and work planning.</li><li>Drives a positive workplace culture through employee recognition, communication and people centered human resource practices.</li><li>Oversees the delivery of programs and key functions inclusive of compensation, benefits, vacation and leave management, occupational health & safety, employee programs, employee investigations and conflict resolution.</li><li>Leads development of total rewards compensation strategy ensuring that it is market competitive, equitable and aligned with organizational goals.</li><li>Oversees benefit and pension programs including LAPP (Local Authorities Pension Plan), Manulife Defined Contribution Pension Plan, and Manulife Group RRSP Savings Plan.</li><li>Works with the finance team on the compensation and benefits inputs into budgets / forecasts for the organization.</li><li>Regularly interfaces with all of Silvera's communities and business units to have deep understanding of workforce needs and opportunities.</li><li>Builds and fosters strategic partnerships with relevant external partners, such as post-secondary, practicum programs, benefits providers and talent sources etc. to advance Silvera's people strategies.</li><li>Conducts and reports on environmental scans of industry workforce trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, recommending their adoption where appropriate.</li><li>Responsible for people and culture cost center budgets.</li><li>Ensures compliance with federal and provincial legislation related to Silvera's employee and labour relations obligations.</li><li>Owner of the organization's policy process and its people and culture standard operating procedures (SOPs).</li><li>Reports on organizational performance trends through establishment, monitoring and reporting of key people and culture performance indicators.</li><li>Leverages Silvera's human resource information system, Workzoom, and data analytics to generate insights, identify trends and inform management's business decisions.</li><li>Optimizes the use of technology automation, particularly Workzoom, to create efficiencies by streamlining business processes, workflows as well as enhancing employee and manager experience.</li><li>Responsible for maintaining accurate and accessible data sets necessary for effective emergency responses and workforce mobilization, such as fan-out lists.</li></ul><h3>Candidate Profile</h3><p>The ideal candidate will bring a combination of education, experience, skills, and abilities to excel in this leadership role. They demonstrate a strong track record of success in Human Resources and possess the following qualifications :</p><ul><li>Post-secondary degree, preferably a master's degree or post-graduate certification in human resources, business administration or a related discipline.</li><li>Certified Professional of Human Resource (CPHR) designation.</li><li>A minimum of ten years' progressive leadership experience covering all areas of human resources and familiarity with unionized workplaces.</li><li>A relationship builder who can coach, support and build capacity of leaders at all levels.</li><li>Deep understanding of human resources & Organizational Health and Safety legislation, human resources operations with a focus on continuous improvement.</li><li>Proficient with Workzoom or a similar human resources information system, the Microsoft Office Suite and using data to make informed decisions.</li><li>Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to engage in joint problem-solving activities with employees, managers and senior management, and proven experience resolving workplace conflict issues.</li><li>Strategic thinker with an ability to implement transformational organizational change in delivering people and workplace culture strategies.</li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills with a commitment to equity, inclusion and respect in all interactions.
