Purpose:
The Director, Inventory Management and Manufacturer Relations is responsible for developing and maintaining a robust sourcing strategy, strong vendor relationships and providing strategic leadership for purchasing, focused on replenishment and inventory management. This person will also ensure that their functional group continuously monitors the enterprise sourcing needs, researches the marketplace and assesses its ability to meet those needs and develops sourcing strategies to execute on those strategies. The individual will work with the business lines and the Supply Chain team to support optimal delivery for the client.

Job Responsibilities:
- Support the design and implementation of best practice sourcing processes and policies.
- Strengthen vendor relationships; negotiate terms and rebate programs, special prices and corporate contracts.
- Promote and actively pursue continuous improvement on a regular and proactive basis of all procurement functions.
- Provide strategic leadership to the Inventory and Purchasing teams to determine where opportunities lie for inventory stocking levels.
- Promote and actively pursue continuous improvement on inventory management throughout purchasing functions.
- Develop vendor performance metrics and meet regularly with vendors to discuss and improve performance, fill rates, quality, forecasts, and changes in the industry.
- Perform market research and spend analysis on specific categories/programs.
- Evaluate high spend categories of goods and services to determine where opportunities lie for pricing and contract renegotiations, contract/vendor consolidations, or alternative goods or services evaluations.
- Identify new sources of supply on an ongoing basis and develop secondary sources.
- Advise all related/involved parties on changes in markets.
- Establish and maintain standard purchasing practices and policies to ensure honest, fair and ethical relationship with suppliers.
- Responsible for the inventory management system across the OMS sites.
- Ensure team is working in compliance with company policy, practice and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure team is working in alignment with the company’s commitment to customer service levels, serve as an escalation point, and resolve client concerns by phone, email and in-person. This includes providing coaching, guidance and solutions to direct reports.
- Identify and action opportunities to improve service, including work instructions/procedures to improve team efficiencies and workflow.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement and strategic sourcing within the Healthcare Industry.
- A university degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field is required.
- Demonstrated experience in leading procurement strategies that align with corporate goals and drive organizational success.
- Proven ability to lead and influence at a senior level, with a record of accomplishment of building strong cross-functional relationships.
- Deep knowledge of supply chain management, procurement practices, and strategic sourcing.
- Strong ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and make strategic recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems, with a focus on procurement and inventory management software.
