<p><h3>Overview</h3><p>Director, Financial Planning & Analysis – Corporate Expenses. This key leadership role will report to the Assistant Vice President of the Corporate Segment and is responsible for driving financial discipline across Corporate Functions, overseeing financial planning and analysis, providing strategic insights to Business Partners, and leading a team in delivering financial reporting, analysis and cost optimization initiatives.</p><h3>What You'll Be Doing</h3><ul><li>Act as a strategic financial advisor to senior leaders in corporate functions, driving financial discipline in Corporate expenses and strategic initiatives.</li><li>Oversee the annual budgeting, long-term strategic planning, and forecasting processes for Corporate expenses to align with company goals.</li><li>Consolidate Corporate Functions expenses and deliver reporting on budgets, forecasts and quarterly performance, articulating into key messages and performance drivers.</li><li>Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making and target setting.</li><li>Lead the Corporate annual allocation processes, communicate updates and impacts through the Business Partner Statements to internal clients across the enterprise.</li><li>Evaluate financial projections and assumptions in business cases and investment proposals, and balance investment decisions with performance targets.</li><li>Manage, mentor, and develop 5-6 team members, promoting a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and professional growth.</li><li>Drive improvements in processes, systems, and tools to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and data capabilities.</li><li>Establish, monitor, and enforce internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations and oversee internal and external control walkthroughs.</li></ul><h3>What You'll Need To Succeed</h3><ul><li>Finance and accounting designation (CPA, etc) with 8-10 years of Insurance and/or Financial Services industry experience.</li><li>Experience with Hyperion Planning and Reporting; Tableau applications is an asset.</li><li>Problem Solving: Ability to address complex issues across multiple stakeholders concurrently at the Corporate level.</li><li>Strategic Thinking: Ability to connect financial plans to forward-looking business objectives and growth initiatives.</li><li>Communication: Excellent ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.</li><li>Change Agent: Strong ability to drive change and operate in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Strong interpersonal, influencing and teamwork skills.</li><li>Attention to detail at multiple levels in expense management framework.</li><li>Advanced skills in Microsoft Office.</li></ul><h3>What's in It For You</h3><ul><li>Being a member of the Sun Life family, a group of people united by our purpose: to help Clients and Employees achieve lifetime financial security and live healthier lives.</li><li>In 2024, Sun Life ranked among the top 100 most sustainable global corporations by Corporate Knights for the 15th consecutive year.</li><li>We are proud to be on the 2024 Best Workplaces in Canada list by Great Place to Work.</li><li>We’re also listed as one of the Best Workplaces for Women and Best Workplaces with Most Trusted Executive Teams.</li><li>Our Sabbatical Program allows up to 6 weeks off every five years.</li><li>Care Days for self-care or care of others and Sick Days to support well-being.</li></ul><p><b>Salary Range:</b> 105,000 - 180,000</p><p><b>Job Category:</b> Finance</p><p><b>Posting End Date:</b> 25/09/2025</p><p>We are proud to be a hybrid organization offering options to work from the office and virtually, depending on role requirements and individual needs.
