Job Purpose
The lack of affordable housing is having increasingly serious impacts on businesses throughout the GTA to attract and retain talented and energized staff. The rationale for engaging corporations and their staff in supporting the work of Habitat for Humanity has never been stronger! Moreover, in a crowded fundraising space, Habitat for Humanity has a unique strategic advantage in offering hands-on employee engagement opportunities on our build sites and in our ReStore operations. Against this backdrop, the Director of Corporate Partnerships is responsible for the organization and implementation of the Corporate Partnerships fundraising and sponsorship program generating revenues annually from the corporate sector. This includes strategic planning and reviewing short-term and long-term goals, objectives, timelines and budgets as well as the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of Habitat GTA’s corporate partners to achieve or exceed annual revenue goals. Reporting to the Vice President, Resource Development, the Director of Corporate Partnerships will manage a team of three Corporate Development Managers.
Job Duties
Corporate Partnerships and Donor Pipeline Development
- Innovate and develop creative and compelling strategies to grow existing and new corporate accounts, and develop proposals that demonstrate win / win corporate partnerships
- Act as the Primary Relationship Manager for a portfolio of high-value corporate partners and prospects (approximately 100-125 in various stages)
- Develop and implement a stewardship strategy to secure strong renewal rates of corporate sponsors while enhancing the corporate donor experience
Corporate Team Engagement Program Management
- Oversee Habitat GTA’s corporate team engagement programs, including the signature “Habitat Build Day” experience
- Work cross departmentally to deliver strong leadership and ensure alignment between all internal Habitat Build Day stakeholders, including Construction, Volunteer Resources, Marketing and Family Partnerships
Reporting and Analytics
- Support development activities by directing the team in maintaining accurate records of corporate donor information in Raiser’s Edge CRM
- Work with Database Manager to create process efficiencies and address inconsistencies with corporate donor data
- Lead the development of the annual corporate fundraising budget.
- Conduct regular reporting and analysis of Habitat GTA’s corporate fundraising results
Collaboration and Support
- Develop effective relationships with appropriate senior volunteers and staff to encourage their participation to assist with the Corporate Team Engagement Program
- Work with the Director of Major Gifts and Vice President of Resource Development to identify transformational corporate donor opportunities
- Support a positive and collaborative team dynamic
Corporate Team Leadership and Development
- Manage a team of three Corporate Development Managers Ensure that the objectives, projects and critical paths for the corporate program are being met and that processes / policies / procedures pertaining to prospect management, clearance, tracking and reporting are followed by direct reports
- Provide mentorship, training and development opportunities to direct reports
- Represent Habitat for Humanity GTA as a Brand Ambassador by modeling our values and guiding principles
- Learn, understand and participate in the Health and Safety Program
Summary of Skills & Qualifications
- Proven success in securing and managing significant corporate partnerships, sponsorships, and donations within a fundraising, business development, or sales environment.
- Experience developing and executing corporate partnership strategies that align donor interests with organizational priorities.
- Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to build long-term, mutually beneficial relationships across a range of corporate sectors.
- Skilled in providing strategic leadership in the development of tailored partnership proposals, stewardship plans, and impact reports that speak to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and marketing goals.
- Demonstrated people management experience, including leading a team, providing coaching and professional development, conducting performance reviews, and fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture.
- Ability to set clear goals, monitor progress, and support staff in meeting individual and departmental targets.
- Experience supporting and participating in fundraising campaigns and donor engagement events, including employee engagement programs and on-site experiences.
- Proficient in using CRM systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge NXT, Salesforce) for donor tracking, reporting, and pipeline management; strong attention to data accuracy and revenue forecasting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proposal writing, presentation delivery, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment.
