The Canadian Steel Producers Association (CSPA) is seeking a strategic, experienced, and collaborative Director, Climate and Environment to join our senior leadership team.
This executive role is central to advancing CSPA’s priorities in environmental policy, climate leadership, and sustainability. The successful candidate will lead the Association’s Environment and Climate Committees, manage regulatory and policy advocacy, and represent Canada’s steel producers in high-level engagements with government, industry, and global partners.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the development of national industry positions on climate and environmental policy and regulation
• Oversee CSPA’s climate strategy, including technical studies, advocacy, and reporting initiatives
• Represent CSPA in government consultations, international forums, and strategic alliances
• Provide expert leadership to CSPA’s Environment and Climate Committees
• Build and manage relationships with external partners, including regulators, trade groups, and research organizations
What We’re Looking For:
• 5+ years of senior-level experience in environmental policy, climate strategy, or regulatory affairs
• Strong knowledge of Canadian environmental and climate frameworks; international experience is an asset
• Proven track record in stakeholder engagement and public advocacy at senior levels
• Exceptional communication, policy analysis, and leadership skills
• Advanced degree in Environmental Policy, Public Policy, Law, Engineering, or related field
• Preference is for Ottawa based or willing to relocate; ability to travel as required
