Application note: Though we have an office based in Calgary, this is a remote position that is open to candidates across Canada.

Role Overview

We are looking for an analytically strong Data Analyst who loves building clean, reliable data foundations just as much as uncovering insights. In this role, you’ll sit at the intersection of analytics engineering, data modeling, and stakeholder‑facing analysis, helping us turn messy, multi‑source data into well‑designed tables, intuitive models, and clear insights that drive decisions.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys partnering closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and translate those into purpose‑built data tables and meaningful metrics. You’ll focus on designing data structures, mapping data flows, and building scalable models, with the goal of growing into a full‑stack analyst who can own everything from data modeling to dashboarding. You’ll thrive here if you’re comfortable with ambiguity, love creating structure where none exists, and enjoy working in a hybrid data modeling and analysis environment.

Key Responsibilities

Owning analytics engineering fundamentals (50%)

Build the data foundation by owning the architecture of key analytics tables, including mapping inputs, designing transformations, planning model structures, and creating clean, intuitive datasets (e.g., patient journey funnels, provider supply/demand models, marketing attribution).

Translate stakeholder questions into well‑structured tables, transformations, and documentation.

Ensure accuracy, reconciliation, and data quality across a complex set of sources in partnership with product and engineering teams.

Building the tools and metrics that run the business (30%)

Turn business needs into reliable data solutions by working directly with operations, growth, and product stakeholders to understand goals, clarify the "why," and deliver trusted data assets.

Define KPIs and build dashboards and monitoring tools to help teams understand performance and unlock stronger patient outcomes.

Organize and simplify complex datasets so downstream users can self‑serve.

Enable experimentation and impact measurement of new business initiatives, from new service offerings to improvements in patient communications.

Answering high‑impact business questions (20%)

Use SQL, BI tools, and statistical reasoning to explore data, run investigations, and communicate insights to non‑technical teams.

Partner with cross‑functional teams (Growth, Clinical, Product, and Patient Care) to scope analyses, identify root causes of performance changes (e.g., decreases in retention, demand spikes, capacity bottlenecks), and recommend actionable insights.

Required Experience and Skills

3–5+ years of experience in data analytics or analytics engineering.

Strong SQL skills and experience designing or maintaining ETL/ELT‑style data models (dbt experience is an asset but not required).

Understanding of data modeling concepts, table architecture, and how to structure data for downstream use.

Experience with BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Superset, Mode, or similar).

A strong sense of ownership and ability to break down open‑ended questions into structured, solvable problems.

Comfort talking to stakeholders and translating ambiguous needs into clear technical plans.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Excellent communication skills.

Desired (Nice to Have)

Proficiency in Python or R for advanced analytics and modelling.

Experience at a startup or in healthcare.
