<p>Hertel Meats a Pork processing plant providing fresh and smoked Sausages, Bacon, Ham and other specialty pork products.</p><p>Located on beautiful Vancouver Island, in Port Alberni, Hertel's has been in business for 60 years bringing "old country" recipes to their valued customers.</p><p>Duties include the following:</p><ul><li>Operate machinery to process and bag, box or otherwise package food products</li><li>Record production information</li><li>Clean machines and immediate work areas</li><li>Inform supervisor of mechanical malfunctions or product irregularities</li><li>Make adjustments to process variables</li><li>Set up and adjust processing and packaging machines</li><li>Food safety/handling skills</li><li>Manually pack goods into bags and boxes or other containers</li><li>Check products and packaging for basic quality defects</li><li>Transport raw materials, finished products and packaging materials</li><li>Assist process control and machine operators in performing their duties</li><li>Feed and unload processing machines</li></ul><p>Weight handling</p><ul><li>Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)</li></ul><p>Personal suitability</p><ul><li>Flexibility</li><li>Team player</li><li>Reliability</li></ul><p>Employment requirements</p><ul><li>No Experience Necessary - Employer will train</li><li>Spoken English required</li><li>High School</li></ul><p><em>Benefits</em></p><ul><li>4% Vacation Pay – 2 Weeks Vacation time after first year completed</li><li>Group Plan – After 6 Months Completed – Life, AD&D & Critical Illness Insurances, Dental and Extended Health</li><li>Employee Product Purchasing</li><li>Company Events</li></ul><p>Job Type: Full-time</p><p>Additional pay:</p><ul><li>Overtime pay</li></ul><p>Job Type: Full-time</p><p>Pay: $18.00-$19.64 per hour</p><p>Expected hours: 40 per week</p><p>Benefits:</p><ul><li>Dental care</li><li>Discounted or free food</li><li>Extended health care</li><li>On-site parking</li></ul><p>Location:</p><ul><li>Port Alberni, BC (required)</li></ul><p>Work Location: In person</p>
