Horizon Health Network (Horizon) is actively recruiting Corporate Security Officers to join the team at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
As a Corporate Security Officer you would be responsible for ensuring public safety within the healthcare environment. You will protect patients, public, and staff from acts of violence with a focus on prevention, early intervention, and response. As an extension of the healthcare team, you will provide a safe and secure environment in support of the delivery of safe, quality care.
Specific duties include:
- Maintaining a safe and secure working environment
- Vigilant monitoring and patrol of assigned areas of responsibility
- Establishing rapport with clients and staff
- Acting as an internal first responder to acts of workplace violence
- Providing operational leadership related to the mitigation of security risks and threats to public safety
- Assuming a lead role with respect to response and required physical intervention
- Liaising with local law enforcement
- Ensuring the healthcare environment is free from weapons or other prohibited items
- Collecting, tracking, and reporting data pertaining to acts of violence

Who you are:
You possess a post-secondary diploma in law enforcement, corrections, criminal justice, or a related field, or you have a minimum of five years of military experience. You have written and spoken competence in English.
