The successful candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, real estate industry exposure, and a passion for process improvement and mentorship.</p><p><br></p><p>What You'll Accomplish in This Role</p><p><br></p><ul><li>Oversee full-cycle corporate accounting, including monthly close, reconciliations, and variance analysis across multiple entities.</li></ul><p><br></p><ul><li>Prepare annual consolidated financial statements, including intercompany eliminations and foreign currency translation.</li></ul><p><br></p><ul><li>Manage sales tax compliance (GST/HST, QST) and ensure adherence to ASPE and internal controls.</li></ul><p><br></p><ul><li>Supervise and mentor a small corporate accounting team (senior and junior accountants).</li></ul><p><br></p><ul><li>Collaborate cross-functionally with property management, asset management, and tax teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.</li></ul><p><br></p><ul><li>Support the annual budget and quarterly reforecast process, along with weekly and quarterly cash forecasting.</li></ul><p><br></p><ul><li>Lead and liaise with external auditors on year-end audits and tax filings.</li></ul><p><br></p><ul><li>Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities to enhance efficiency.</li></ul><p><br></p><ul><li>Contribute to a positive, high-performing culture that encourages teamwork, respect, and professional growth.</li></ul><p><br></p><p>What You'll Bring to the Table</p><p><br></p><ul><li>CPA designation (required).</li></ul><p><br></p><ul><li>5+ years of experience in corporate finance or public accounting (real estate audit or industry experience preferred).</li></ul><p><br></p><ul><li>Strong understanding of ASPE and consolidation principles.</li></ul><p><br></p><ul><li>Experience managing or mentoring staff, with a leadership mindset.</li></ul><p><br></p><ul><li>Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software; Yardi experience is an asset.</li></ul><p><br></p><ul><li>Proven analytical skills with a problem-solving, "think outside the box" approach.</li></ul><p><br></p><ul><li>Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.</li></ul><p><br></p><ul><li>Motivated self-starter with strong organizational and time management abilities.</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Why This Opportunity?</p><p><br></p><ul><li>Work with a supportive, people-first leadership team that encourages career growth and autonomy.</li></ul><p><br></p><ul><li>Hybrid work model</li></ul><p><br></p><ul><li>Exposure to complex corporate structures, consolidations, and real estate accounting.</li></ul><p><br></p><ul><li>Culture that values respect, teamwork, and work-life balance.</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Compensation & Details</p><p> Salary Range: $100-120K + annual bonus (flexible based on experience)</p><p> Location: Hybrid, Greater Toronto Area</p><p> Benefits: Comprehensive group benefits plan</p><p><br></p><p>We use AI tools as part of our screening process to assist in candidate assessment.
