Description

PURPOSE:

This position supports the vision and mission of World Renew and the Marketing Communications (MarComm) Team by managing marketing communications projects from ideation to distribution.  Researches, writes and edits  compelling content that furthers the engagement of new and existing World Renew audiences. 


Please note: This position will be based in the Burlington-Canada office. However, due to the current COVID-19 restrictions in place, it will be temporarily remote at least through the end of the year.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Collects stories from ministry teams each quarter.  Edits content and makes recommendations to MarComm Team on which stories to use for key marketing campaigns.
  2. Liaises with World Renew’s International Disaster Response (IDR) and domestic Disaster Response Services Teams.  May serve as MarComm Team lead for emergency disaster communication coordination and writing.  Leads branding and content for program fundraising, recruitment, and volunteer communications
  3. Manages projects and writes annual Canadian Foodgrains Bank (CFGB) campaign and all other marketing communications for World Renew’s CFGB projects during the year.
  4. Writes the semi-annual DRS volunteer newsletter.
  5. Writes and edits a variety of content for communications and marketing purposes such as web stories, email strategies, social media campaigns, direct mail, brochures, newsletters, and presentations.
  6. Coordinates photo and story asset gathering in the field for various projects. 
  7. Assists with the implementation of strategies and tactics for acquisition and donor cultivation.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERTISE:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Able to respect and support the mission, vision and values of the CRCNA and World Renew 
  2. A love of language with demonstrated advanced writing skills and a thorough knowledge of the English language, correct grammar, punctuation, spelling, and general Business English
  3. Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to meet multiple deadlines
  4. Demonstrated project management and process mapping abilities
  5. Good interpersonal communications skills with a demonstrated ability to accomplish work goals through collaboration
  6. Cooperative, flexible, and adaptable team player
  7. Disciplined, self-motivated work style, proactive
  8. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Google suite of services, product management software
  9. Knowledge of the Reformed faith/tradition and knowledge of the CRCNA constituency an asset
  10. Demonstrated commitment to contribute to and promote a work environment that values diversity, inclusion and equity

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or related field required
  2. Three years of work experience in communications or marketing field required
  3. Knowledge of international disaster response and/or development an asset
  4. High level of proficiency in creative, marketing, and communications writing (marketing content specialist, content writer, senior writer, fundraising writer, mass donor fundraiser)
