<p>I am currently partnering with a growing construction group in Edmonton that delivers commercial and light industrial projects across Alberta. The organization is built around accountability, clarity, and strong project execution. They are looking for a <strong>Construction Manager</strong> who can oversee construction operations, drive project performance, and support the continued development of operational teams and processes.</p><p><br></p><p>This role is suited for a <strong>hands-on leader</strong> who is confident managing multiple project teams, ensuring consistent project delivery standards, and contributing to overall business strategy.</p><p><br></p><p>This is a <strong>senior leadership role</strong> with influence over staffing, execution standards, field performance, and departmental systems.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Role Summary</strong></p><p>The Construction Manager is responsible for ensuring that all construction projects are executed safely, on schedule, and within budget. This includes oversight of Project Managers, Coordinators, Superintendents, and field teams, while supporting project planning, financial performance, and client relationships.</p><p>The CM will also play a key role in developing operational structure, improving workflows, implementing project controls, and building strong working relationships with clients, consultants, and trade partners.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p><strong>Operational Leadership</strong></p><ul><li>Lead and support project delivery teams from project launch through close-out.</li><li>Maintain visibility into project progress, schedule risks, cost exposure, and quality.</li><li>Conduct regular project reviews, job cost meetings, and site visits.</li><li>Support and guide Project Managers and Superintendents in decision-making.</li><li>Ensure consistent use of project management processes, tools, and reporting systems.</li><li>Participate in the resolution of issues, disputes, change orders, and schedule challenges.</li><li>Oversee monthly progress billing, invoicing cycles, and contract compliance.</li></ul><p><strong>Resource & Team Management</strong></p><ul><li>Assign project teams based on workload and skill requirements.</li><li>Support hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and professional development within the operations team.</li><li>Conduct regular touch-points and performance reviews.</li><li>Promote a positive, transparent, and accountable work environment.</li><li>Maintain alignment between field and office teams, avoiding siloed working styles.</li></ul><p><strong>Client, Consultant & Trade Partner Engagement</strong></p><ul><li>Build and maintain strong working relationships with owners, design teams, and subcontractors.</li><li>Ensure alignment of expectations, scope, quality, schedule, and deliverables.</li><li>Represent operations in client meetings as required.</li></ul><p><strong>Strategic & Departmental Development</strong></p><ul><li>Participate in senior leadership discussions on business planning and operational improvement.</li><li>Recommend new ideas, process improvements, technologies, and systems.</li><li>Support continuous improvement of scheduling, safety, communication, and reporting practices.</li></ul><p><strong>Experience & Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>10+ years of construction experience, including <strong>Design-Build</strong> project exposure.</li><li>5+ years in a leadership or operations-centered role (Project Manager, Construction Manager, Senior Superintendent, etc.).</li><li>Experience delivering <strong>commercial and/or light industrial projects</strong>.</li><li>Strong understanding of construction contracts, cost control, scheduling, and site operations.</li><li>Well-developed leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.</li><li>Ability to evaluate project risk and develop proactive mitigation strategies.</li><li>Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with evolving priorities.</li></ul><p></p>
