As an employer, the EORC values respect, collaboration, accountability, and compassion, upholding the highest standards of equity, diversity, and inclusion.</p><p>NATURE OF THE WORK</p><p>The Outreach Support Worker is a motivated, compassionate and organized person that supports the <em>Fostering Inclusion for Community Seniors (FICS)</em> project. This role is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life and social inclusion of vulnerable seniors—particularly those with hearing loss—through a combination of community outreach, research, and service navigation.</p><p>RESPONSIBILITIES</p><ul><li>Conduct a comprehensive scan of community associations, programs, and services relevant to seniors across Eastern Ottawa.</li><li>Identify and document service accessibility features (e.g., hearing-aid compatibility, ASL interpretation, TTY support, bilingual services).</li><li>Build and maintain a resource database with detailed descriptions of programs, accessibility indicators, and contact information.</li><li>Develop a bilingual (English/French) public service directory, available in print, digital, and large-print formats.</li><li>Coordinate the distribution of the directory through door-to-door outreach, community pop-ups, pharmacies, libraries, and partner organizations.</li><li>Plan and execute monthly pop-up information hubs in underserved neighborhoods.</li><li>Host service navigation events in accessible venues such as churches, farmers' markets, and libraries.</li><li>Provide on-site one-on-one consultations and distribute accessible, multilingual educational materials.</li></ul><p>WHAT WE WOULD LIKE TO FIND IN YOU</p><ul><li>A diploma or degree in one of the following fields: Social Work, Community Development, Gerontology, Social Services, Disability Studies, or a related discipline.</li><li>Access to a vehicle.</li><li>Experience in working with multicultural communities.</li><li>Minimum 2–3 years of experience in community outreach, program delivery, or working with seniors and/or vulnerable populations.</li><li>Experience working with individuals with hearing loss or knowledge of hearing-accessibility services is a strong asset.</li><li>Demonstrated experience coordinating public-facing community events or workshops</li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written) in English and French (bilingualism required).</li><li>Familiarity with accessibility best practices and tools, especially for individuals with hearing loss.</li><li>Experience with data collection, service mapping, and directory development.</li></ul><p>WHAT YOU WILL LIKE ABOUT US</p><ul><li>Atmosphere that promotes collaboration, exchanges, and inclusion.</li><li>Access to free parking.</li></ul><p>Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract<br><br>Contract length: 12 months</p><p>Pay: $28.49-$35.02 per hour</p><p>Expected hours: 35 per week</p><p>Education:</p><ul><li>DCS / DEC (required)</li></ul><p>Experience:</p><ul><li>community outreach, program delivery : 2 years (required)</li></ul><p>Language:</p><ul><li>English (required)</li><li>french (required)</li></ul><p>Work Location: In person</p>
