Civil Technician (Winter COOP Term)

GEMTEC currently has an opening for a Civil Technician in our Dartmouth office location for the Winter 2026 COOP Term (January to April 2026).
Youre an ideal candidate if you have:
- Experience or interest in general construction activities, materials testing and inspection services.
- A desire to get hands-on experience in your field of study.
- The initiative to find the next task without being told.
A typical day on the job might look like:
- Performing laboratory testing of aggregates, soils, concrete and asphalt.
- Performing field testing and sampling of aggregates, soils, concrete, and asphalt.
- Adhering to all company policies.
- Performing other duties as required.
The good stuff you get:
- COOP Term position available (4 months)
- 37.5 hours per week plus overtime
- Experience working with specialists in the field
- Compensation for mileage driving to sites
Your background and what you bring:
- Experience with materials testing and inspection.
- Experience working in civil construction is considered an asset.
- Valid drivers license
