OpTalent is proud to be managing the search for a Civil/Structural Engineer on behalf of a long-standing client in the nuclear and energy industry.
This role is ideal for emerging engineers with 3-5 years of experience who are eager to contribute to meaningful infrastructure and plant life-extension projects.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Perform engineering design, development, analysis, testing & evaluation
- Complete field visits to support engineering work development
- Liaise directly with clients to ensure technical solutions align with operational needs
- Deliver full-cycle engineering work for plant operations-design through to commissioning and maintenance
- Support constructability reviews and participate in multi-disciplinary design meetings
Key Technical Focus Areas:
- Structural analysis and design of components and systems
- Familiarity with codes/standards such as CSA N285.0, CSA S16, CSA B51, ASME BPVC, etc.
- Experience or exposure to engineering software like ANSYS, AutoPIPE, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MicroShield
- Ability to prepare and review technical reports and engineering calculations
- Knowledge of constructability and manufacturing methods in infrastructure settings
The Candidate will Possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (or related discipline)
- EIT designation with PEO required; P.Eng. license preferred
- Strong written/verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with senior engineers and cross-functional teams
- Committed to safety, quality, and engineering excellence
The Candidate will Possess:
- Security Clearance
- Familiarity with GIS, Bluebeam, AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Comfortable in fast-paced environments with shifting project priorities
