<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p>Salary: $17.60<br /><p>Location and Start time:<br /></p><ol><li>Silverthorn Community School (300 Kane Avenue) - 3:00pm - 5:30pm</li><li>121 Humber Boulevard South - 3:00pm - 5:30pm</li></ol><p><br /></p><p>BGC Weston Mount Dennis & Lawrence Heights Club serves children and youth in the Weston Mount Dennis/ Lawrence Heights and surrounding communities providing social, physical, educational, creative, seasonal, and community support programs. We are looking for motivated people to facilitate our afterschool childrens program for the 2025-2026 school year for children ranging in age from 4 - 12 years old.</p><p></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><ul><li>Program Planning and Delivery:<ul><li>Coordinate the planning and execution of the After-School Program for children and youth, ensuring alignment with Ontarios After School Program Guidelines for 2025/2026.</li><li>Develop and implement engaging physical education, recreational, and nutrition activities that cater to diverse learning styles and enhance participant development.</li><li>Plan, organize, and lead activities for children aged 4 to 12 years, ensuring they are safe, age-appropriate, inclusive, and skill-based.</li></ul></li><li>Stakeholder and Partner Engagement:<ul><li>Identify and establish connections with local stakeholders and partners to enhance program delivery and community involvement.</li></ul></li><li>Supervision and Safety:<ul><li>Supervise participants to promote safety, respect, conflict resolution, leadership, and life skills.</li><li>Ensure the safety and security of participants at all times, including maintaining health and safety standards, especially in food handling and preparation.</li><li>Respond to critical incidents in accordance with the Clubs policies and procedures.</li></ul></li><li>Staff and Volunteer Coordination:<ul><li>Coordinate the participation of staff, volunteers, and placement students, fostering their contributions and ensuring they adhere to program standards.</li><li>Participate in staff training and orientation sessions to ensure all team members are equipped to fulfill their roles effectively.</li></ul></li><li>Administrative Duties:<ul><li>Maintain accurate records and statistics, including weekly member attendance, and complete program reports, surveys, and interviews as per organizational guidelines.</li><li>Manage program materials, equipment, and resources, ensuring all supplies are in safe working condition and properly secured.</li></ul></li><li>Communication and Relationship Management:<ul><li>Liaise with parents/guardians on issues relevant to their childrens participation and address any concerns promptly.</li><li>Maintain professional relationships with peers, members, volunteers, parents, and the public.</li></ul></li><li>Policy Enforcement and Conflict Resolution:<ul><li>Enforce program policies and procedures, initiating disciplinary actions when necessary.</li><li>Handle conflicts and behavior management immediately using corrective techniques as discussed in training.</li></ul></li><li>Other Duties:<ul><li>Complete additional tasks as assigned by the Program Coordinators and/or Community Directors.</li><li>Adapt to varying schedules, including after-school hours, PA Days, and occasional evenings for special events or training.</li></ul></li><li>Health and Safety Compliance:<ul><li>Adhere to Health & Safety standards, including the Clubs Covid-19 Safety Protocols, to ensure a safe environment for all participants.</li></ul></li></ul><p><br /></p><p>Qualifications:</p><p></p><ul><li>Educational background applicable to the position.</li><li>Experience working with children 4 to 12 years old.</li><li>Strong skills in one or more of the following areas: sports, arts, recreation, education, health and nutrition.</li><li>Ability to work as team members in a dynamic, complex environment.</li><li>Strong supervision and program planning skills</li><li>Good decision making and problem solving skills</li><li>Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification.
