Child And Youth Worker

Tips: The Support Worker is responsible for providing direct care, emotional support, and advocacy for children and youth in our agency’s care.

This role involves daily interaction with vulnerable children, building trusting relationships, implementing personalized care plans, and working collaboratively with other professionals to ensure the well-being and development of those served.

Responsibilities


Relationship building; Emotional Support; intervention implementation; Activity facilitation; Collaboration and advocacy; Documentation; Team participation; and Adherence to Standards


Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Social Work, Developmental Service Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Previous experience working with children, youth, or vulnerable populations is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and behavioral management techniques.
  • Compassion, patience, and a commitment to supporting others.

Working Conditions:

  • Residential care
  • May require flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, overnights and weekends.
  • Potential exposure to challenging situations that require emotional resilience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform physical activities such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods as needed.
